Iron Castings - Cleaning and Finishing

Before a gray iron or ductile iron casting can be shipped, excess material must be removed through the use of a trim press or a grinding application. At Waupaca Foundry, our automated finishing processes, robotic equipment and inspection procedures ensure that we continue to deliver the most consistent high-quality gray, ductile, austempered ductile and high-strength ductile iron castings on the market.

We clean our iron castings using multiple automated machines and technologies. We manufacture robust, four-stage rotary trim press equipment that increases cycle times up to 25 percent from current branded equipment. We also manufacture automated in-line grinding equipment, offering a unique advantage for brake disc production, in particular.

We integrate our finishing systems with vision-assisted and automated material-handling robotics.

Take a closer look at the automated trim press we’ve designed, engineered and installed to optimize casting quality, create greater efficiency and enhance operator safety.
